Community Partnerships


Since 2015 Senderos has hosted the band from Centro de Integración Social #8 (CIS), a public boarding school in the Sierra Norte mountains of Oaxaca. The band performs at various events in Santa Cruz each May, including our Guelaguetza. Learn more about the CIS music program here.

In 2011 Senderos started Latino Role Models with Santa Cruz City Schools. Now we partner with many entities to create the annual Latino Role Models conference at Cabrillo College:

Since 2016 Senderos has partnered with the Museum of Art and History to present the annual Día de los Muertos celebration in early November.

Senderos is a partner with linguists at UC Santa Cruz in their Nido de Lenguas program, which shares the beauty and value of Oaxacan languages. Learn about a recent summer trip to study Oaxacan languages here.
