Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza is a wonderful dance, music, food, and crafts cultural festival that occurs every spring.

Diosa Centeotl is a Senderos cultural contest held every spring to select the Diosa Centeotl (corn goddess) who will reign over the Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza festival activities in May. The competition includes presentations by participants, performance by Senderos’ dance troupe, and delicious food for sale. This traditional event is open to young women ages 16 to 23 who come from Oaxaca or have Oaxaqueño parents. Dressed in traditional outfit, each young woman makes a presentation about the traditions and customs of the town/region they are representing, also reflecting on why it is important to maintain the Oaxaqueña identity. The selected Diosa receives a $500 scholarship.

Senderos is the founder of the annual Latino Role Models conference – ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS FOR COLLEGE AND CAREER.

Senderos collaborates in the Diá de los Muertos event presented by the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH). Features include food, face painting, live music, traditional dancing, and a procession from the MAH to Evergreen Cemetery.

Senderos winter performance, December in Mexico, features our Centeotl Danza y Baile and Ensamble Musical on the first weekend each December. Come experience beautiful dances and music from different regions in Mexico and enjoy delicious Mexican food!
