VIVE OAXACA GUELAGUETZA 2025

LOCATION: The festival takes place in the school yard in the rear of Branciforte Small Schools, located at 840 N. Branciforte Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95062. The entrance gate is located at the front of the school on N. Branciforte Avenue.

HOURS: 10:00am-4:00pm; entry gates open at 9:30AM. 

The marketplace for Oaxacan food, crafts will remain open until 5:00PM. 

ADMISSION: Tickets are sold at the entry gate: $10.00 per person; children under 5 admitted free.

NO PETS: No pets are allowed at the festival. This is a school property which does not allow pets, even small hand-held animals. 

VENUE: The festival is located on a field with only a little shade. Feel welcome to bring blankets and low chairs. No canopies, umbrellas or tents are allowed.

ACCESSIBILITY: There will be parking for those cars displaying handicapped placards at the rear of school off of Benito Avenue. If you need additional accommodation or have questions, please contact us at info@scsenderos.org, (831) 854-7740. 

PARKING:  The school location does not have a dedicated parking lot. There is a limited public parking lot at 1103 Soquel Avenue. There is street parking in the neighborhood. Please respect the neighborhood and local businesses! Note that you may have to walk from when you park your car to the festival.

PROGRAM:  Formal program begins with the convite/procession of musicians and dancers at 11AM. Cultural dance and music program is from 11am-3pm.

PERFORMERS: Senderos Centeotl Danza y Baile and musicians and dancers from Oaxaca.

BENEFIT FOR SENDEROS: This event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Senderos, which provides free dance, music classes, educational support programs and scholarships for Latino youth. 

Senderos is hosting two visiting cocineras/chefs from Oaxaca – please stop by our food booth to enjoy the authentic street food from Oaxaca. 

We’ll also have a Guelaguetza hat decorating table (hats for sale $5 to benefit Senderos).
